The Challenge
BiteBox was struggling in an increasingly competitive food delivery market. Their app felt outdated, ordering took too many taps, and users weren’t coming back after their first order. With delivery giants spending heavily on marketing, BiteBox needed to win on experience rather than ad spend.
Our Approach
We analyzed 50,000 user sessions to identify exactly where the ordering funnel broke down. We conducted taste-test style usability sessions comparing BiteBox with five competitor apps, and ran surveys with 1,000 users to understand what drives loyalty in food delivery.

The Solution
We redesigned the entire ordering experience around speed and personalization:
- Smart home screen that adapts based on time of day, order history, and local restaurant availability
- One-tap reorder for favorite meals with remembered customizations
- Visual menu browsing with high-quality food photography and dietary filters
- Real-time order tracking with animated delivery map and accurate ETAs
- Reward program integration with progress visualization and surprise-and-delight moments
The Results
The redesigned app dramatically improved BiteBox’s key metrics. Average order time dropped from 4 minutes to under 1 minute for returning users, and the personalized home screen drove a 50% increase in repeat orders. The visual menu overhaul and smart recommendations boosted average order value by 35%, and the app climbed to a 4.9 rating on the App Store.
